UofSC Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Center of Excellence
Carolina Autism and Neurodevelopment (CAN) Research Center
Headed by Jane Roberts (Department of Psychology) and Jeff Twiss (Department of Biological
Sciences), this initiative aims to build a multi-disciplinary, collaborative center
for basic, clinical, and intervention research and education in autism and neurodevelopmental
disorders at the University of South Carolina.
The Dean's Office awarded Dr. Jessica Bradshaw, Elizabeth Dixon, and CAN Research
Center a Co-Curricular Programming Grant to be included in the Spring 2023 Play Theme
Semester. Thanks to our grant, CAN is excited to announce Autism's Got Talent, a virtual
talent show for individuals with autism. More details to come soon!
CAN Research center Fall retreat kicks off new school year
August 8, 2022 | Members of CAN Research Center met to discuss strategic goals and
make plans for CAN research Center. They were joined by several guests across the
university, including Dean Joel Samuels (Arts & Sciences), Vice President for Research
Dr. Julius Fridriksson, and Whitney Evans (Director of Development ).
