The Anne Frank Center on the USC campus brings to life the story of the young Jewish girl who – in the pages of her world-renowned diary – documented two years of hiding in German-occupied Amsterdam during World War II. By sharing Anne's legacy with visitors, students and teachers, USC’s Anne Frank Center seeks to inspire our commitment to never be bystanders but instead to stand up together against antisemitism, bigotry and inequality wherever it may exist today.

 

Schedule A Tour

Tours are available for individuals, groups and families. There are three types of tours available. 

Public: These tours are ideal for individuals, couples, or small groups of friends and family who are age 12 and above. Tours will accommodate up to 15 guests. Register here and follow the prompts.

Group Tours: These tours are for groups of up to 100 guests from a school, synagogue, church, retirement community, local business or club. To register for a tour, please please complete the Group Tour Registration Form.

Group tour rates vary depending on size, time, and organization making the request. We have a donation box to receive cash and checks on site. Checks can be made to "University of South Carolina". You may also make your contribution online in advance of your visit at https://donate.sc.edu/annefrankcenter. Invoices can be created upon request.

We work diligently to ensure all group tour requests receive a reply within 3 business days. Thank you for your patience!

Each visitor must register and receive a unique ticket. Electronic or printed tickets are accepted at the door. All tours are led by volunteer docents or staff. Regular tours are free for USC students, and there is an optional suggested donation of $10 for the general public.

The Anne Frank Center is located on the corner of Barnwell Street and College Street at 1731 College Street, Columbia, SC 29208.

Our partner, the Anne Frank House, offers an introductory 28-minute video suitable for most ages. Viewing it in advance is not necessary, though it can enrich your visit.Visitors will learn about Anne’s story and legacy through photos, videos and original artifacts that represent the experience of her family as they hid behind her father’s business in Amsterdam.

Get Involved 

The Anne Frank Center invites USC students to get involved as guides to the museum. Student volunteers will receive special training and can enroll in coursework in order to give tours to their fellow students and the broader community. If you would like to consider becoming a volunteer, email the Anne Frank Center about opportunities to get involved. 

Programs for Schools

The Anne Frank Center welcomes field trips of students and offers a wide range of programming on campus and in schools across the nation, both in person and remotely. These programs include a traveling exhibition and peer education program, guided virtual tours of the Anne Frank House, a dialogue workshop called "Free2Choose" about challenging topics, and video production workshops for students. How to Contribute

When you choose to donate to the Anne Frank Center, your contribution will help us carry out our mission and programs as an educational resource for the state and nation.
