The Museum of Education sponsors annual exhibits, educational programs, and research institutes. The museum serves a variety of audiences including University of South Carolina students, faculty, and staff; local educators; local P-12 students; and the general public.
This exhibit is a culmination of two photovoice projects carried out within two separate University of South Carolina courses in the fall of 2022. The lived experiences and co-created knowledge of students with and without disabilities on campus is reflected in this exhibit.
The Guest Curator Program seeks to provide an opportunity for faculty members to experiment outside of traditional boundaries to share and disseminate their scholarship. The program contributes to the College of Education’s stated desire to become a leader in educational innovation and transformation.
As part of its community outreach efforts, the Museum of Education sponsors Fearless: The Septima Clark Mobile Exhibition Program. The program seeks to engage African American girls in a meaningful museum studies experience.
Project CHAANGE is a multiple-day professional development experience for P-12 teachers. It is a collaborative effort by the Museum of Education and the Center for the Education and Equity of African American Students. Project CHAANGE is also funded by a grant from the South Carolina Department of Education.
